iPad Locked – How to proceed with unlocking your iPad

The following are some of the issues and the resolution for the same:

iPad is passcode locked: If your iPad is passcode locked and it is displaying the minutes you have to wait to unlock the iPad then you will have to wait for the minutes displayed or you have to restore your iPad using iTunes. Note that restoring the iPad will erase all the data and you can only get the data back if it is backed up on iTunes. If you want to restore the iPad then see https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201263. You cannot retrieve the data if you have forgotten the password. Note that you will need the Apple ID and Password which was used to set up the iPad to activate the iPad after is restored.
iPad is iCloud unlocked: If your iPad is iCloud locked then you can visit https://www.icloud.com/ and rest your iCloud account. If you have forgotten the Apple ID associated with the iPad then the iPad cannot be activated.
